About this position:

POSITION SUMMARY
The President serves as the strategic and spiritual leader of Orphan Outreach, ensuring that the mission and vision of the organization are effectively carried out. This role requires a passionate, faith-driven leader who can cast vision, drive growth, and oversee global operations while upholding biblical values. The President will be responsible for organizational leadership, fundraising, strategic partnerships, overseeing mission trips, and ensuring excellence in program implementation. Additionally, the President must effectively collaborate with the long-term founders and key staff to ensure continuity, shared vision, and organizational growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS:

Spiritual & Visionary Leadership

  • Lead the organization with a Christ-centered vision, ensuring that all programs and initiatives align with biblical principles.
  • Foster a strong culture of prayer, faith, and discipleship within the organization.
  • Serve as the primary spokesperson, inspiring stakeholders, donors, and partners with the mission and vision of the organization.

Strategic & Operational Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan in collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Oversee all aspects of international operations, ensuring efficiency, financial sustainability, and impact-driven results.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of staff and volunteers across multiple countries.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements in the countries of operation.
  • Work closely with the founders and key staff to maintain alignment with the organization’s original vision while fostering innovation and growth.
  • Navigate relationships with key leaders, balancing respect for historical leadership with the need for strategic evolution.

Mission Trips: Vision, Organization & Oversight

  • Develop and implement a vision for mission trips that aligns with the organization’s goals and spiritual values.
  • Organize, structure, and oversee mission trips to ensure meaningful engagement with the communities served.
  • Collaborate with churches, volunteers, and partners to recruit and train mission trip participants.
  • Ensure mission trips are well-coordinated, safe, and impactful for both participants and the orphans being served.

Fundraising & Financial Stewardship

  • Oversee budget and budget process
  • Lead and oversee fundraising efforts, including donor relations, grants, church partnerships, and major gifts.
  • Build relationships with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Ensure responsible financial management, transparency, and stewardship of resources.

Program Development & Impact:

  • Oversee the development and execution of programs that provide Christ-centered care, education, and empowerment for orphans.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement based on measurable outcomes.
  • Strengthen partnerships with local churches, ministries, and community leaders to support sustainable solutions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A deep, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a calling to serve vulnerable children.
  • Proven leadership experience in a nonprofit, ministry, or international development organization, preferably in child welfare or missions.
  • Experience in organizing and leading mission trips.
  • Strong strategic planning, fundraising, and organizational management skills.
  • Experience working with international teams and cross-cultural settings.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a founders and key staff, navigating leadership transitions while honoring the organization’s history.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; a Master’s in Nonprofit Management, Theology, Business, or a related field is preferred.

  • Requires ability to successfully work with businesses and organizations, donors, and volunteers.
  • Requires airline and vehicle travel to various domestic and international geographic locations regularly. Requires train and bus travel occasionally. Some overnight stays required. Requires ability to secure and maintain current documentation necessary to travel internationally including a current passport.
  • Professional or volunteer experience in working with children, child development, poverty alleviation, nonprofit administration or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must speak, read and write English proficiently.
