Job Title: Software Quality Analyst

Reports to: Software Quality Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY

We are seeking technical, highly skilled team members with experience overseeing the quality of software through every stage of the software lifecycle. This team member will work alongside other BSF team members, BSF volunteers, and external vendors. You will be responsible for ensuring BSF’s software and products meet BSF’s standard for excellence in user experience and support of BSF’s Bible studies.

You will work on a project team, which includes Technical Leads, UI/UX specialists, Business Analysts, Developers, and Engineers to build and deliver software enhancements and defect fixes. You'll be involved in reviewing and understanding customer-approved requirements in the early stages of the project and working with the BAs and Developers to ensure the enhancements and defect fixes are properly functioning and minimize negative impacts on the system/application. Your primary duties on the project will include understanding desired system/application functionality to ensure design specifications and expected results are met during testing phases, while also working closely with the development team and Product Owners to clarify and address any issues identified by users and testers. You may be expected to contribute to various types of documentation, including testing plans; test results; identifying SMEs for UAT, and project deliverables.

The Software Quality Analyst will help BSF deliver quality technology products to our users to enhance their in-depth study of God’s Word.

ESSENTIAL TO THE POSITION

Must have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and be in full agreement with the Bible Study Fellowship Statement of Faith, Human Sexuality Policy, Core Values and Cultural Commitments. Experience developing and directing testing plans for users of varying levels of technical understanding. Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills, and ability to clearly document issues and steps to resolve issues in a way that is reproducible by others. Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Understanding of Agile framework

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, document, and maintain test plans, test cases, and other testing artifacts
  • Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer testers
  • Collaborates with product teams to advocate for the user experience through all stages of product development
  • Provides input into the TPMs design based on defined user acceptance criteria
  • Reviews proposed implementations and participates in demos to assess usability, identify potential problems, and ensure user experience meets BSF’s standards for quality
  • Reviews documented QA test results by development vendors to confirm that defined quality standards have been met and coordinates user acceptance testing with vetted field volunteers
  • Ensures quality control by developing testing standards, methods, and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
  • Identify, document, and track defects throughout testing
  • Investigates user problems and supports root cause analysis

  • Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or 4 years QA/UAT testing experience in large-scale systems projects.
  • 2+ years' experience with testing IT applications and services.
  • 1+ years' experience with developing testing plans.
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus.
  • Spiritual Requirements:

    Thorough understanding of the Christian faith and its doctrines and the BSF Statement of Faith. Follow Matthew 18 principles in addressing issues with fellow employees. Studying the Bible in preparation for each weekday’s group meeting. Lead staff prayer time and your table group Bible study as reasonably requested. Prepare for and attend each Day of Prayer.
